Welcome to the Current Middle Ages

Owl's Nest DeviceThe Shire of Owl’s Nest is a local chapter of The Society for Creative Anachronism. We reside in the Kingdom of Meridies. The members of our Shire are interested in researching and recreating the arts, skills, and sciences of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance eras.

Our official boundaries include the counties of Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Gordon, Paulding, and Pickens.  We welcome newcomers and travelers from afar. All published gatherings are open to the public, and we love seeing new faces.

Members of our Shire are active in many Society related activities, including Heavy Weapons, Rapier, Youth Combat, and the Arts & Sciences. Arts & Sciences activities include: embroidery, weaving, illumination, calligraphy, period cooking, sewing, jewelry making, basket weaving, carpentry, metalwork, equestrian, coursing of hounds, and bardic and heraldic activities, just to name a few.
